In my sophomore year at UT I was a comic artist for the student newspaper, The Daily Texan. My comics ran twice a week in the spring semester of 2016 and were written and illustrated on a quick turnaround while juggling a brutal course load. The humor was generally dark and absurd and focused on the tribulations of Bunnygamer, an anthropomorphic lesbian rabbit.

I left the paper after only one semester because the content guidelines prohibited artists from creating work that was challenging or mature enough for a college-aged readership. My dissatisfaction with The Daily Texan led me and my creative partner to produce The Deadly Toxin, a zine for alternative comics.
